Welcome to Cookbook Nook for Cookbook reviews!
Cookbooks:
The title pretty much says it. The cookbook's loaded with recipes for items you'd normally buy at the store. I generally use it for the jams, jelly's, and syrups, but the cookbook also covers items like breads (bagels!), meats, condiments, pickles, preservers, yogurt, candies, and much more. Describes how to can and preserve and also talks about tools involved.

Finally, you no longer have to hear about Wolfe and Fritz's gourmet meals -- you can enjoy preparing them! Recipes for many of the special dishes Archie's told you about -- including my (and his) favorite, Griddle Cakes! While this may be a novelty cookbook, it's also a good special-purpose cookbook. While there are special gourmetish recipes ("Scrambled Eggs? let me know 45 minutes before you're ready."), there are also loads of useful and usable eats. Also includes special items from Rusterman's Restaurant, too!

"Recipes in the Native American, Spanish, and Mexican Tradition". I haven't had a chance to use this glossy cookbook much, but you'll find sections on pancakes, biscuits, corn breads, muffine, quick breads, plus sections on glazes and spreads. The recipes for Native American breads really caught my eye.

"Because gluten can be hiding where you would least expect, together we'll walk through all ingredients used in this book." Wheat allergies are serious business -- my nephew and brother-in-law are both allergic to wheat and their reactions when they inadvertantly eat wheat are dramatic. Cooking gluten-free isn't quite as hard as you might think -- but you do have to be careful and read labels. This cookbook helps walk you through the process of learning to live gluten free. The cookbook covers all the main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, etc) including loads of yummy wheat-free breads!
